NHS regulations are now much more complex. However, our Reception staff are always happy to help - please telephone us to clarify whether you are eligible or not. Click here for our contact details
Here is a brief summary.
To be eligible for an NHS home visit free of charge, the patient must be eligible for an NHS test and must have a medical reason for not being able to visit the practice.

If you are eligible for an NHS test but do not have a medical reason for being unable to visit the practice we can still come to see you but there will be a call out fee.
For Nursing / Residential / Sheltered Homes, if there are several residents who wish to be examined we would not levy a call out fee.
Some patients may also be eligible for an NHS voucher towards the cost of spectacles.
Those patients not on Income Support may apply for help towards the cost of spectacles. Please ask us to supply HC1 forms before our visit.
Generally you can only have an NHS examintion every two years (unless you are having difficulties) there are exceptions, over 70's, glaucoma sufferers and diabetics can have a test every year. |
