Prescription sunglass lenses and UV filters
Most lenses can be tinted to reduce the glare from the sun and make your vision more comfortable. However, research shows that excessive exposure to Ultra-Violets rays from the sun can cause long-term damage to the eyes.
With prescription sunglass lenses we would recommend a UV filter coating to give optimum protection. This can be combined with a scratch resistant coating to improve durability. Reflection free coatings
Reflection free coatings are a major improvement and are standard on many modern lenses. They reduce reflections on your lenses, make them appear virtually invisible and will improve your vision in low light conditions, for example when driving at night. Many lenses also incorporate a water-resistant top coating to aid cleaning and performance in the rain.
Scratch - resistant coatings
Plastic lenses are lighter than glass and less likely to break, but being softer there is a higher risk of lens damage, particularly scratches. To prolong the life of plastic lenses we recommend a scratch-resistant coating.
