Dear Patients, Friends & Colleagues,
The team at Coleman has been doing everything that we can to make sure Coleman Opticians Hearing & Vision continues to be as safe a place as possible to work, have your eyes and ears tested, choose new spectacles or pick up your prescription. We are a healthcare industry and as such our Health & Safety and cleanliness is always extremely high, currently we have stepped it up to another gear.
On Thursday we posted a Blog on our website about Coronavirus and our reactions to the situation. Please do read and we will continue to update this as the position develops.
We are a small family run independent business and right now we are focused on protecting our team, our patients, our community and our business; we are trying to make the correct call at the right time.
As a management team, we have been considering the impact of Coronavirus since the news was first released from China and have been trying to plan a strategy as much as we can.
Since the beginning of the month, our hygiene protocols have been increased, with all toys removed from the children’s area, all books/magazines removed from the waiting area and all surfaces were wiped down between patients. The staff continue to wash their hands between each patient as per government recommendation, but also as we have always done.
Please can we ask all patients who have symptoms to contact us to rearrange their appointments on 01603 624564. If this is going to leave you in a precarious position sight wise please do discuss this with us as we know that by working together, we can reach a satisfactory conclusion.
From today, having listened carefully to the Prime Minister’s update last night we are going to implement the following changes;
Social Distancing;
We are spacing all of our appointments at least half an hour apart, this will mean fewer people in the waiting areas. We will also be asking all patients to book appointments before coming into the practice and to wash their hands on arrival or use sanitizer.
We are also introducing a delivery option for all glasses, contact lenses, hearing aid batteries and any eye-related deliveries. We also have an online shop for all your eye and hearing aid needs.
Looking further ahead as the virus develops and the potential for more self-isolating is recommended, we believe that we will be able to offer a home visiting service. We have the equipment readily available to come and examine your eyes in your home and bring a vast array of spectacles for you to choose from with us. We believe that these measures allow us to continue to trade responsibly within current government guidelines. We are a healthcare led business and we want to help our more pressured colleagues wherever we can. Our social media channels from today will carry happy, positive, kind messages, and we are soon to launch a children’s competition too. The country as we know it is in turmoil but together, we can combat this and come out the other side holding our heads high that we worked tougher.
