Coleman Hearing & Vision are pleased to be able to offer the newest treatment for blepharitis, BlephEx, which is a quick and painless procedure that can be performed in practice by our well trained optometrists. 

BlephEx is a painless deep clean treatment to the eyelids and meibomian glands that can give instant and lasting improvemet to uncomfortable blepharitis symptoms. 

BlephEx removes debris and bacterial build up around the eyelids which are the main causes of inflammatory lid disease and blepharitis

Common Symptoms of blepharitis;

Itching or scratchy eyes

Foreign body sensation

Tearing

Crusting

Redness/inflammation

Build up of bio-matter around the eyelashes

Dry eyes

Frequent eye rubbing

BlephEx can help to alleviate these chronic and debilitating symptoms.  By eliminating the inflammatory causes of blepharitis, the overall health of the eyelid is improved.  Patients can then begin to produce more of their own tears and enjoy a reduction in irritating pain due to blepharitis and associated dry eye disease. 

We allow a 45 minute appointment to assess your eyes and perform BlephEx.  Most patients report a tickling sensation on the eyelids.  After the procedure we will discuss maintaince of clean eyelids with regular lid hygiene.  Some patients can benefit from this procedure being repeated at regular 4-6 month intervals. 

 The cost of the appointment is £80.00, or a direct debit option is available giving you gold membership and allows you as BlephEx treatments as you need during the year.
