As lockdown restrictions are in the process of being eased across the UK, there has been no indication from each UK nation’s health and government bodies of plans to step down infection prevention and control procedures (IPC) in primary or secondary healthcare settings in the coming months.
All of the UK is currently in the Amber phase.
We anticipate the Amber phase guidance will end in all four UK nations by summer 2022. Additional IPC requirements will be incorporated into the main Guidance for Professional Practice and will be led by the four nations’ public health guidance. Future waves may require a temporary transitions into the Amber phase if required.
